Our pale green and light blue Labradorite, or Spectrolite (A labradorite that exhibits a high degree of Labradorescence), Has one face in particular where the iridescence can be seen moving across the whole piece of rock. On the back face there are, what I like to call, oil patches, or specks of iridescent that can be seen upon the rock formation. These patches are so hard to photograph that it just doesn’t do the stone justice.

Labrodorite has a high level of energy.

Labrodorite enhances psychic or spiritual abilities when used on the Throat, Crown, and Third Eye Chakras.

This spectrolite weighs 684g and sits next to our 2x2cm wooden block for size reference.

There is a legend in Gemstone lore that claims there was once an Inuit Warrior, who came upon a rock in the Canadian province of The Isle of Paul, known as Labrador. The Warrior believed that the Northern Lights were trapped in the rocks and struck them with a spear in hope to free them. It is said that the remaining rocks, that he did not strike, contain the rest of the Aurora Borealis, trapped for eternity. This “Fire Stone” would later become known as Labradorite, named after the location of where it was found.
It is easy to see why someone would think that the Northern Lights were trapped inside this Rock, as that’s exactly what it looks like!
